Fashion Forward: Young Leaders Driving Change in Sustainable Fashion

Fashion Forward is an Erasmus + Key Action 2 program that aims to empower young people to become leaders and advocates for sustainable and ethical fashion. During the 24-month program, the partners Equação, Cooperativa de Comércio Justo, Crl from Portugal, Fair Cooperativa Sociale from Italy, Polskie Stowarzyszenie Sprawiedliwego Handlu: Trzeci Swiat i My from Poland, Asociación Espacio Geranios para el Emprendimiento Social from Spain and Equo Garantito from Italy are achieving this through a dual focus:

  • training young leaders): Equipping them with advanced skills and knowledge to become effective trainers and facilitators in sustainable fashion;
  • engaging Young Change Agents: Increasing knowledge over sustainable fashion, enhancing their skills and fostering their active participation in creating change within the fashion industry.

The four-stage process:

  1. training young leaders with prior sustainability experience to become skilled trainers;
  2. developing an educational toolkit for youth-led advocacy campaigns;
  3. creating and implementing games to promote sustainable fashion in action and advocacy events
  4. disseminating project results and fostering a lasting network of young Fashion Forward ambassadors.

Fashion Forward anticipates tangible results: 20 young leaders equipped as skilled trainers in sustainable fashion; 80 young people demonstrating increased awareness and understanding of ethical fashion; 4 youth-led educational games implemented; 20 local advocacy actions carried out and 400 people engaged; two resources produced: Training of Youth Trainers (ToYT) curriculum and “Activism for Sustainable Fashion” toolkit.
